The UK Health and Care Visa is a specialized immigration route introduced by the UK Government to attract highly skilled healthcare professionals. Falling under the Skilled Worker visa category, it is designed to strengthen the UK’s healthcare system by making it easier, faster, and more affordable for qualified health professionals to work in the United Kingdom.


Who Can Apply?

This visa is open to a wide range of healthcare and social care professionals, including:

If you fall within one of these categories and have a valid job offer from an approved UK employer, you may be eligible to apply.


Duration of Stay

The Health and Care Visa is generally granted for up to 3 years initially. Extensions are possible, and the visa may be renewed for:

  • 5 years and 14 days, or

  • The duration listed on your Certificate of Sponsorship, plus one additional month,
    whichever is shorter.
