Canada Visit Visa

What is a Canada Visit Visa?

The Canada Visit Visa (also called a Temporary Resident Visa) allows foreign nationals from eligible countries to enter Canada for short-term purposes such as tourism, family visits, or business. Depending on your nationality, you may require this visa even for short stays. Each stay generally allows you to remain in Canada for up to six months.

Types of Canada Visit Visas

  • Single-Entry Visa – Permits one entry into Canada for a stay of up to six months.

  • Multiple-Entry Visa – Allows repeated entry into Canada over a period of up to 10 years or until one month before your passport expires (whichever comes first).

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for a Canada Visit Visa, applicants must:

  • Hold a valid passport or travel document.

  • Show proof of sufficient funds to cover the stay.

  • Have no serious criminal record and be in good health.

  • Convince immigration authorities that you will leave Canada at the end of your visit.

  • Provide additional documents if requested, such as a medical examination or a letter of invitation from a Canadian host.

  • Tourist Visas – Up to 15 days if documents are complete.

  • Business Visas – Between 1 to 6 weeks.
